Osprey Games

As of August 2023 I've been in a full time Game Developer role for the esteemed Osprey Games!

Game dev at Osprey brings with it the privilege of working with some of the very finest designers, illustrators, and artists working in hobby board games today to produce some seriously awesome titles.

Current-

Osprey Games is an imprint of Osprey and Bloomsbury Publishing, as its the board game publishing division.

Osprey has always been closely linked to the wargaming hobby community, with its books being widely used as guides for painting miniatures and designing scenarios. In 2015, Osprey moved into another new phase of its life with the establishment of Osprey Games. Board and card games were added alongside the established wargaming lines and Osprey Games embarked on a range of games in different formats and packages. Whilst historical games remain a proud feature of the list (Undaunted, Imperium, Crescent Moon), it has grown to encompass a wide variety of themes, including science fiction and fantasy, gardening, railways, and much more besides!

Past Roles

I've worked in a few different places doing different roles, from full time board game dev, to marketing, to systems design.

Full time employee, consulting, providing cover-leave- it's a medley!

This page is home to listing those roles, and all non-project based items. Please see the Designs & Development pages, via the header, for more on various projects and contributions.

Inside The Box

Working as a full time board game developer for Inside The Box, meant that besides the delights of making and playing board games all day there were a whole host of responsibilities: Designing gameplay solutions, direct playtesting, coordinating playtests, documentation, rules writing, rules proofing, designer relations, liaising with production and art, screening submissions, and games research.

Improbable

As part of 'Improbable Games UK' I was initially hired to create and then digitized a pen and paper model of the proposed resource flow between gameplay systems, over the course of 2 months.

Following this I contracted as a games designer on the same project, during which the focus was on creating bespoke play experiences, design documentation, and deduction/hidden role minigames.
